Comcast Names Karen Dougherty Buchholz as Vice President of Administration

Comcast Corporation Executive Vice President David L. Cohen today announced that Karen Dougherty Buchholz has been named Vice President of Administration. In this newly created position, Buchholz is managing and coordinating a variety of corporate administrative responsibilities, including facilities, real estate, corporate services, security, aviation, travel, diversity, and other matters. In particular, she will assume responsibility as the Project Manager for the company's Philadelphia Corporate Headquarters search, including any move or transition activities that may be required at the conclusion of that process.

For the past three years Buchholz has served as Comcast's Vice President of Corporate Communications, which was also a new position in the company. In her new role she will continue to report to Cohen. In a separate announcement today, Comcast named D'Arcy Rudnay to replace Buchholz as Vice President of Corporate Communications.

"Karen has done a terrific job of ensuring that Comcast's story of growth, innovation and shareholder and customer value has been told with the unprecedented level of media coverage we have received during the past three years," Cohen said. "We are all grateful for the great work she has already done for Comcast, and look forward to her applying her talent and energy to her new portfolio of responsibilities with the company."

Previously, Buchholz served as President of the Philadelphia 2000 Host Committee for the 2000 Republican National Convention, as sales executive for Comcast-Spectacor, managed the development of Philadelphia's Pyramid Club, and served on the staffs of U.S. Senator John Heinz and Gubernatorial candidate Barbara Hafer.

Buchholz holds a B.S. Degree from Dickinson College and an M.S. Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She resides in the Philadelphia region with her husband Carl and their two children.
