Comcast Names Jessica Wallace Senior Director/Policy Counsel
Philadelphia, PA.
Wallace currently serves as Majority Counsel for the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. She is responsible for broadcast, cable, satellite, and copyright issues for the committee, and has been with the committee since 2000. Before that, Jessica was an associate at the law firm, of Verner, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand, where she focused on communications law.
She will start in mid-July and be working with Comcast in Washington, DC with Kerry Knott, Vice President of Federal Affairs, Jim Coltharp, Chief Policy Advisor, FCC and Regulatory Policy and Brian Kelly, Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs.
Knott said, "Jessica is one of the few people on Capitol Hill with deep expertise on cable and other communications issues. Her mastery of the issues plus her wide-ranging relationships on both sides of the aisle makes a perfect fit for Comcast as we continue to expand our DC office."
Rep. Billy Tauzin (R-LA), Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said, "When it comes to broadcasting and cable issues, no one on Capitol Hill has a better understanding of policy and the law than Jessica Wallace. Clearly, she is one of the rising stars of the telecommunications industry today. While I am sad to see her leave, I could not be more proud of her and what she's accomplished in a short period of time. She had been a tremendous asset to me and our committee, providing expert, on-the-mark analysis time and time again. Everyone wishes her continued success."
Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet, added, "Jessica is one of an extremely rare breed. She is an immensely talented and treasured member of our team, operating under the ultimate public servant's motto: 'It's amazing what you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit.' She brings to the table brains, elbow grease, integrity, loyalty, and wit, which she has selflessly deployed in our efforts to tackle some of the most complex telecommunications issues. Our Subcommittee's loss is Comcast's big gain."
