Comcast Names Gavin Harvey President of Outdoor Life Channel

Comcast Corporation today announced that Gavin Harvey has been named President of Outdoor Life Network (OLN).

Launched in 1995, OLN is a Comcast-owned television network devoted exclusively to outdoor adventure and action sports and is the home of the Tour de France. Headquartered in Stamford, CT, OLN offers exclusive programming in four primary areas: Outdoor Adventure, Action Sports, Field and Stream® and Bulls & Rodeo.

Harvey succeeds E. Roger Williams, who is leaving the network to pursue other opportunities.
Harvey joins OLN from E! Networks in Los Angeles, where he served as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Brand Director. Comcast is a majority owner of E! Networks, which include E! Entertainment Television, Style Network and E! Online.

"Under Roger's leadership, OLN has become a leader in the world of outdoor television and is now available to more than 55 million subscribers, and we wish him well," said Amy Banse, Executive Vice President of Programming Investments for Comcast. "Through his work at E!, we have come to know Gavin as a seasoned television programming executive, and we are confident he will build on the strong foundation that Roger and his team have established at OLN."

Harvey joined E! in 2001, and was a driving force behind brand development and positioning initiatives for E! Networks, including the re-branding of E! Entertainment Television and the Style Network. Prior to joining E! he served as Senior Vice President and Brand Director for iN DEMAND, the nation's leading video-on-demand and pay-per-view provider, and also held executive level positions at FX Networks.

Harvey holds an M.B.A. from the UCLA Graduate School of Management, and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Chicago. He and his family currently reside in Los Angeles and will be relocating to Connecticut.
