Comcast High-Speed Internet Unveils Enhanced Comcast.net Customer Site Showcasing the Best in Broadband

Comcast introduces 'The Fan' - An innovative and easy-to-use broadband multimedia player for streaming video clips

Comcast, the nation's leading broadband Internet provider, today unveiled a series of innovative enhancements to its broadband customer site at Comcast.net giving, its nearly five million Comcast High-Speed Internet customers the ability to experience the broadband Internet as it is intended -- lightning fast with full click-and-play ease.

The company has added several unique features that optimize customers' Internet experiences including 'The Fan,' an innovative broadband multimedia player, 'The Assistant,' a personalized toolbar with always-on utilities, and additional broadband content from leading providers such as E!, G4, The Weather Channel, IFC, Planeta Networks, Atom Films and others.

The company also recently announced that it is offering Comcast Rhapsody, the country's leading Internet jukebox service, that provides subscribers with unlimited access to a vast library of music from all five major labels plus more than 200 independent music labels.

"We're thrilled to unveil the new Comcast.net, enhanced for our 100 percent pure broadband network," said Greg Butz, senior vice president of Marketing and Business Development for Comcast High-Speed Internet. "Comcast is leading the way by pairing the power of our broadband network with the applications that showcase the best in broadband content. Along with our recent move to double downstream speeds, the enhancements to Comcast.net are further proof of our commitment to innovation and providing more value to our customers."

Comcast's enhancements of the Comcast.net site begin with a streamlined redesign of the cover page providing customers with improved navigation and more robust tools to view topical videos and photos that link to related information.

'The Fan'

The Comcast.net cover page also is home to 'The Fan,' a Comcast-developed broadband multimedia player that dynamically features content from a variety of leading providers such as Atom Films, E!, G4, IFC, TechTV and Planeta Networks, a leading Spanish-language online content provider. 'The Fan' presents rich graphics and video content in a unique kaleidoscope fashion that allows users to watch and save clips. To use 'The Fan,' users simply click-and-play and the tool automatically launches video.

"Click-and-play ease combined with a completely unique interface allows 'The Fan' to deliver video like no other Internet application available today," said Butz. "In offering this innovative and flexible tool, we're providing our customers a unique broadband experience that helps them make the very most of their broadband connections."

'The Assistant'

Comcast also has launched 'The Assistant,' a special broadband toolbar that allows users to receive and personalize information such as local weather from The Weather Channel, sports information and scores, Super Search with Google, stock watch lists, horoscopes, favorite sites and top movies including a feature that allows users to search for local show times by ZIP code. 'The Assistant' can be attached or detached from the browser, providing a small window to the broadband Web from wherever the user may be -- whether he or she
is playing a game, writing an email or listening to online music. "With drag-and-drop capabilities, Comcast designed 'The Assistant' to provide customers with the easiest personalization on the Internet. And, with

its detachable function, the tool allows users to take the broadband Internet to any place on their computer, allowing them to be constantly connected to the information that is important to them," added Butz.

Additional Broadband Content in Comcast.net Channels Comcast.net is designed for easy navigation with content organized into broadband "Channels" such as news, finance, sports, entertainment and games.

Comcast recently added a new Relationships Channel featuring two best-in-class content providers Match.com and The Knot.

Match.com operates leading subscription-based online dating sites, offering adults worldwide a fun, private and secure environment for meeting other singles. After making a connection on Match.com, couples can turn to
The Knot on Comcast.net as one of the world's leading wedding media and services companies. The Knot provides broadband brides and grooms with comprehensive wedding planning information, interactive tools and resources.

In addition, the Entertainment Channel now showcases a broadband movie trailer feature. In another example of Comcast forging relationships with best-in-class content providers, Comcast and Planeta Networks are offering a co-branded Spanish-language customer site to augment the content available via Comcast.net. The PlanetaTV site features exclusive, 'must see,' interactive media, including film trailers, music videos and behind-the-scenes interviews with Hispanic entertainment and sports icons, plus in-country video feeds

available either 'live' or on-demand from many of Latin America's premier news originators. According to a study by comScore Media Metrix released last week, about 49 percent of the 12.5 million U.S. Hispanic Internet users either prefer to speak Spanish only, or a mix of Spanish and English. The Comcast/Planeta Networks relationship seeks to serve this need by providing compelling and relevant information to Spanish-speaking Comcast High-Speed Internet customers. The co-branded site may be found at
http://onda.comcast.net.

Today, Comcast serves more than 4.86 million high-speed Internet customers. Comcast.net requires a customer's user name and password to gain access to the site's special features and services. Access to Comcast.net is included in the monthly price of Comcast High-Speed Internet. Comcast High-Speed Internet
offers users a lightning-fast connection of up to 1.5Mbps downstream and 256kbps upstream. The company recently began its upgrade of Comcast High-Speed Internet connections to 3Mbps downstream at no additional charge. Most customers are expected to receive the new speeds by year-end.
