Comcast Goes Behind the Scenes at the Sarasota Jazz Festival and Presents Jazz Veteran Peter Appleyard in Concert
Comcast Original Programming presents a special night of music on Sunday July 21 at 9 p.m., with the premiere of its original documentary, Comcast Behind the Scenes: Jazz Lives, followed by a new episode of the Comcast cable-exclusive program, Comcast Studio C: The Jazz Series.
Taped on location during the 22nd Annual Sarasota (Fla.) Jazz Festival, Comcast Behind the Scenes: Jazz Lives goes backstage to bring viewers exclusive highlights and interviews with performers like Tonight Show alumni Bobby Rosengarden, Nicholas Payton, pianist/composer Dick Hyman and Regina Carter, as well as festival organizers.
Next, Comcast's Studio C: The Jazz Series showcases vibraphonist Peter Appleyard performing favorites like "You Stepped Out of a Dream," "Memories of You" and " Cherokee." Appleyard is the founder of the Benny Goodman Tribute Band and is the leader of the Swing Fever Band. He has performed with jazz legends such as Henry Mancini, Tony Bennett, and Ella Fitzgerald as well as the Toronto Symphony.
Comcast Studio C features emerging and established artists performing in intimate settings and talking about their experiences and perspectives in the music industry and the inspirations that have helped shape their work. The series is an exclusive presentation and production of Comcast Original Programming for Comcast Cable customers nationwide.
