Comcast Corporation Names D'Arcy F. Rudnay Chief Communications Officer
Comcast Corporation today announced that D'Arcy F. Rudnay has been named Chief Communications Officer of the Company. Rudnay's new title reflects the expansion of her responsibilities to include leadership for the management of Comcast's brand, image, and reputation, and the additional complexity of the parent company's communications functions following the NBCUniversal transaction. Rudnay will remain responsible for all strategic communications for Comcast and will retain her title of Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications. She reports to David L. Cohen, Executive Vice President, and works closely on special projects with Comcast Chairman and CEO Brian L. Roberts.
"D'Arcy has done a fantastic job as the head of our Company's communications function - leading strategic communications for the entire Company and working with Comcast and NBCUniversal senior management and financial and investor relations teams to ensure that key messages are accurately and effectively communicated to customers, investors, media, the general public, and over 125,000 employees," said Cohen.
"D'Arcy has been such a great partner for our entire senior executive team," said Roberts. "She has worked closely with me in all of our major deals to design and execute appropriate messaging strategies and she has been a terrific leader in facilitating consistent communications for the entire Comcast family of companies," said Roberts.
Before joining Comcast in 2003, Rudnay served as Vice President of Corporate Communications and Media Relations at Lincoln Financial Group. She previously served as Vice President of Communications and Corporate Identity at Advanta Corporation and as a Communications Manager for the Pew Charitable Trusts. She was inducted into Public Relations Hall of Fame in 2010 as one of the Nation's top 25 communications executives and has been recognized as a Woman of Distinction by the Philadelphia Business Journal, as a Woman Worth Watching by the Diversity Journal, and as one of the Most Powerful Women in Cable by CableFax Magazine.
