Comcast Brings Customers the Ultimate NHL Viewing Experience

The Country's Premiere Entertainment and Communications Company Broadcasts Live Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Final Action Via Cable and HDTV; Offers Highlights via Both ON DEMAND and High-Speed Internet

Comcast, in collaboration with the NHL, ESPN and ABC Sports, will offer the most complete coverage of the NHL Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Final ever assembled. In addition to live broadcasts of the games, Comcast's NHL experience will include high-definition television (HDTV) simulcasts from ESPN HD and ABC HD. Comcast also will bring customers convenient, anytime NHL access from the home or office by offering game highlights after each contest through both ON DEMAND, the company's video-on-demand service, and via streaming video on The Fan™ on Comcast.net, Comcast's high-speed Internet portal.

Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Final games broadcast in high definition offer an unparalleled NHL hockey experience, featuring a crystal-clear picture more than six times sharper than standard pictures and a wide-screen display. With HDTV, viewers have the best seat outside the rink. Customers also can relive the best moments of each game and catch up on what they may have missed by watching highlights that will be offered after each game via ON DEMAND and on The Fan.

"We're thrilled to bring our customers more exciting ways to enjoy the quest for the Stanley Cup," said Andy Addis, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Comcast. "Through our HDTV, ON DEMAND and high-speed Internet services, we're providing new ways to experience fast-paced NHL playoff hockey action and offering additional value."

ON DEMAND, a feature of Comcast Digital Cable, offers customers hundreds of programs that they can select any time they want. ON DEMAND also offers customers the ability to pause, rewind and fast-forward their selections, giving them the most choice and control in their home entertainment experience. Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Final hockey highlights will be accessible to customers in most ON DEMAND markets on the ON DEMAND interactive menu in the "Sports" category, under the "NHL Playoffs" screen selection.

The Fan, Comcast's patent-pending broadband multimedia player, presents rich graphics and streaming video from a variety of content providers and allows users to watch and save clips with one click ease of use. Since its launch on Comcast.net in 2003, video usage on the site has increased by a factor of 10.
