Comcast Brings Broadband-Cable High-Speed Internet Offering to Intel's Channel Program Members
Comcast Online, the nation's top broadband provider, has struck an agreement with Intel Corporation to market and sell Comcast High-Speed Internet through Intel's independent dealers nationwide. The agreement enables Intel's dealers to feature Comcast High- Speed Internet in their outlets located within Comcast's national footprint. Comcast will be one of the first residential broadband-cable providers selected by Intel to provide high-speed Internet in conjunction with a computer purchase. Consumers can now combine the best in home computers and broadband Internet easily and conveniently via a single purchase. Customers will be able to check serviceability, choose between a self-install kit or a professional install, and order Comcast High-Speed Internet Service. Upon signing up for Comcast High-Speed Internet through Intel's dealers, customers will receive the following features:
-- The Fan(TM) - A broadband multimedia player available exclusively on Comcast.net that dynamically features content from a variety of leading content providers such as Atom Films, E!, G4, Planeta Networks, MLB, CNBC, FoxSPORTS.com, Scripps (HGTV, DIY, Fine Living, The Food Network), and others. The Fan presents rich graphics and video content in a unique kaleidoscope fashion that allows users towatch and save clips.
-- The Assistant - A special broadband toolbar available exclusively on Comcast.net that allows users to receive and personalize information such as local weather from The Weather Channel, sports information and scores, stock watch lists, horoscopes and top movies that enable usersto search for local show times by ZIP code.
-- Comcast Rhapsody - Provides subscribers with unlimited access to a vast library of music from all five major labels plus more than 200independent music labels.
-- Round-the-Clock Customer Service - Dedicated Internet specialists are available online or by phone all day, every day.
Comcast Online will provide leading residential broadband Internet to customers signing up through Intel's channel dealers, along with the ability to order a high-speed broadband connection quickly and conveniently. Comcast High-Speed Internet is up to 50 times faster than a dial-up modem and enables consumers to get more from their PCs and the Internet - including streaming music and videos, transferring large files and enjoying video conferencing and online gaming.
