Comcast Announces Two Key Comcast University Appointments
Comcast Cable, the country's leading cable and broadband communications provider, today announced that Earl T. Hershey has been named Vice President of Technical Operations and Johnny Brasell has been named Vice President of Customer Service for Comcast University, the company's learning and development function.
"Earl and Johnny's extensive technical and customer service knowledge will help to expand programs and services to employees throughout Comcast's markets," said Rebecca Ray, President, Comcast University. "We are very pleased to have leaders as talented and experienced as Earl and Johnny join our team."
In his new position, Hershey will be responsible for the overall design and launch of technology programs for Comcast's operational employees. In addition, he will be responsible for steering technical programs throughout Comcast's markets.
A cable industry veteran with 26 years of experience, Hershey previously served as Vice President of Technical Operations for Comcast's Midwest division. He has held executive positions with several leading communications companies, including AT&T Broadband, TCI, United Artist and Daniels Cablevision.
Hershey holds a degree in Applied Electronics Technology from Southeast Community College, in Lincoln, Neb. He currently resides in Wilmington, Del., with his wife and 14-year-old daughter. Earl also has two adult children and one grandchild.
In his new position, Brasell will be responsible for the design and deployment of customer service training materials and programs enabling field locations to optimize service delivery. In addition, he will be responsible for identifying and sharing best practices and supporting new business initiatives.
A 29-year veteran in the communications industry, Brasell previously served as Vice President of Customer Service Development for Comcast's National Customer Service team where he focused on operations, process improvement and call center development. He also served as national project manager over numerous call center relocation and expansion initiatives. In addition, Brasell has held numerous management roles for AT&T Corporation, AT&T Long Lines, South Central Bell and TCI/AT&T Broadband. He also is actively involved with the U.S. Department of Commerce and is a member of the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Board of Examiners.
Brasell holds a B.A and an M.B.A in Education from McNeese University in Lake Charles, La., and an M.B.A. in Finance from Kennesaw University, Kennesaw, Ga. He also has earned a Master's Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He currently resides Blue Bell, Pa., with his wife and two daughters.
