Comcast Announces Key Appointments To Senior Executive Staff
Comcast Cable, the country's leading cable and broadband communications provider, today announced three key appointments to its senior executive staff. Rebecca Ray has joined the company as President of Comcast University and as Senior Vice President. Andy Addis has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing and New Products for Comcast Cable. Greg Butz had been promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing and Business Development for Comcast Online.
In her new role, Rebecca Ray will be responsible for leading learning and development strategy, evolving the curriculum, developing training materials and techniques and advancing the use of e-learning for Comcast University, the company's learning and development function.
Prior to joining Comcast, Ray served as senior vice president and head of training for American Skandia, where she launched their corporate university. Prior to American Skandia, she held leadership positions in the learning and development functions at Merrill Lynch and Prudential Securities. Before joining Merrill Lynch, she led a management consulting practice and taught at New York University. Ray holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida, a Master's degree from Florida Atlantic University and a Doctorate from New York University. She serves on a number of learning and development professional advisory boards and is a frequent writer and speaker.

Andy Addis has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing and New Products for Comcast's video products. In this role, he is responsible for leading the company's marketing efforts and product strategy, including directing the development and deployment of video products and services, such as Digital Cable, high-definition TV, video on demand and digital video recorders. In addition, Addis and his team drive marketing programs to ensure ongoing subscriber growth, as well as strategic initiatives that will help the company fully realize the potential of new products. He joined Comcast in 1996 as Vice President of New Product Marketing.

Greg Butz has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Comcast Online, Comcast's high-speed Internet service unit. Butz is responsible for developing marketing strategies and building Comcast's leadership role in the broadband Internet arena including the creation of Comcast.net, the company's broadband customer home page. In addition, he directs product management, advertising and product and business development. Butz joined Comcast in 1993 as Director of Business Development for Comcast Cellular Communications. Comcast High-Speed Internet is the country's leading broadband Internet service provider serving more than four million customers.
