Carol Eggert Joins Comcast As Vice President, Military And Veteran Affairs

Ms. Eggert will work to provide strategic leadership to all aspects of programs and outreach engaging the military and veteran community.

Comcast Corporation (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK) today announced that Carol Eggert has joined the company as Vice President, Military and Veteran Affairs. In this newly created role that was announced earlier this year, Ms. Eggert reports jointly to Dave Watson, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Comcast Cable and Ian Trombley, President Operations and Technical Services, NBCUniversal. Ms. Eggert will work collaboratively across Comcast NBCUniversal to provide strategic leadership to all aspects of programs and outreach engaging the military and veteran community, including recruiting, hiring and building talent at all levels of the organization.

"Carol is a highly respected role model and leader in both the military and civilian community, and we are thrilled she has joined our company," said Mr. Watson. "Our commitment to supporting veterans and those who continue to serve in the military, and their families, is represented through our focus on recruiting and hiring. From January 2012 through March 2015, the company hired approximately 4,200 veterans, and in May 2015 committed to hire an additional 10,000 reservists, veterans and their spouses or domestic partners over the next three years. Carol is a tremendous addition to our team, and I look forward to working with her as we create opportunities for those who have served our country."

Ms. Eggert has more than 30 years of military and civilian experience. In her civilian role, she assisted various organizations in private, government and non-profit sectors with their initiatives in knowledge management, strategic planning and project management. During her military career, she served in both the enlisted and officer ranks, serving in the Army, the Army Reserve and the National Guard in a variety of command and staff positions, including Assistant Adjutant General, Battalion Commander and Chief of Staff and recently retired as a Brigadier General.

Ms. Eggert is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College, where she also served on the faculty and was later selected as the Deputy Commandant for Reserve Affairs. In recognition of her contributions to the military, she has received numerous awards and commendations, including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and multiple awards of the Meritorious Service Medal.

Veterans at Comcast NBCUniversal are invited to join the Comcast NBCUniversal VetNet employee resource group which serves as a base of support for members in several ways, including a mentoring program and events focused on growing the professional and personal development of veterans. Combined, the Comcast NBCUniversal VetNet groups have more than 5,000 members and are quickly growing. Comcast NBCUniversal also recently announced a national sponsorship of The Bunker, an organization that helps launch and accelerate veteran-led businesses and create forums for entrepreneurial veterans to meet and collaborate.
