Beloved Kate, #SignMyTweet!
Philadelphia, PA.
Comcast today announced its first-ever bilingual #SignMyTweet (or #FirmaMiTweet in Spanish) event with internationally acclaimed film and television actor Kate del Castillo. The star of Telemundo’s super series "Dueños del Paraíso" (Masters of Paradise) will be signing fan Tweets during a 2-hour live autograph session on February 12. Fans can submit Tweets starting Monday, February 9, for a chance to receive an oversized version of their own Tweet, signed by Kate herself. The event will be hosted by Xfinity - Comcast’s residential service brand and the nation’s largest video and high-speed Internet provider.
"At Comcast we’re constantly looking for ways to deliver our diverse customer base unprecedented access to their favorite stars and the content, products and services they value most," said Jose Velez Silva, Senior Director of Multicultural Marketing Communications for Comcast. "Through this #SignMyTweet event with Kate del Castillo, our first-ever for the Latino community, we’re providing fans an opportunity to get closer than ever to one of the most universally esteemed and beloved Latino actors of her generation."
Here’s how it works:
On Monday, February 9, Kate will tweet an official #FirmaMiTweet (Spanish for #SignMyTweet) announcement. From that point on, any fan who wants an autograph must tweet to @XFINITYLATINO using the hashtag #FirmaMiTweet. Kate will then sign tweets on Thursday, February 12, from 8-10pm EST (5-7pm PT). The signed tweets are then mailed to fans as a souvenir. This is the third #SignMyTweet event for Xfinity. Previous #SignMyTweet events by Xfinity featured NFL Hall-of-Famer Emmitt Smith and NY Giants wide receiver and Rookie of the Year Odell Beckham Jr.
"I feel very honored that I am the first-ever bilingual actor to be part of the ‘#SignMyTweet’ (or #FirmaMiTweet in Spanish) event," said Kate. "This is a great way to interact with fans watching ‘Dueños del Paraíso.’"
"Dueños del Paraíso," which marks Kate’s return to Spanish-language television, features an ensemble cast of nearly 30 actors, and is based on a story set in the late 1970s and early 1980s, that tells the story of Anastasia Cardona (Kate del Castillo), a woman without a trace of innocence, whose life has been derailed by violence and poverty. Ambition lures her into the world of drug trafficking, and transforms her into one of the most powerful women of her time.
With more than 50 motion picture and television series to her credit, Kate has risen to the top ranks of actors. She made her breakthrough in the US market as a result of her award-winning performance in the hit Fox Searchlight/Weinstein film "Under the Same Moon," one of the country’s highest-grossing Spanish-language theatrical releases to date. The bilingual actress recently starred in the box office smash "The Book of Life," and has no less than five movies set for release, including "No Good Deed," "Visitantes," and "The 33," the highly-anticipated film based on the true story of the 33 Chilean miners trapped underground for 69 days following a mine collapse.
On the small screen, Kate’s recent successes include Telemundo’s super series "La Reina Del Sur" (Queen of the South), which became the highest rated program in the network’s history, averaging nearly 4.2 million total viewers and over 2.8 million adults 18-49, according to Nielsen.
