April Showers Bring More On Demand Program Hours

Comcast's library of entertainment choices offers something for everyone in the family to enjoy this spring and continues to grow in the month of April with a wide-range of choices available On Demand.  Highlights this month include movies like The Wrestler available the same day as DVD, new TV series premiering On Demand at least one week before airing live, along with new episodes of today's top shows available the day after they air and special programming for Earth Day and Easter. 

Movie Highlights 

New Releases - Missed a movie that you wanted to see in the theater?  Now you can watch it at home, anytime. All of these movies are available in SD and HD and can be found On Demand in the "HD On Demand" folder under "Movies & Events" under "All Movies," or in the "Movies & Events" folder under "Just In." 

  • Same Day as DVD - Yes Man, The Wrestler, Frost/Nixon and Bride Wars are all available in HD the same day they are released on DVD.

  • Other Recent Box-Office Hits - Includes Slumdog Millionaire, Quantum of Solace, Bedtime Stories, Rachel Getting Married, Marley & Me and Role Models.  All of these movies are available in HD.

Movie Collections - New movie collections can be found On Demand in the "Movies & Events" folder under "Movie Collections," with many available in HD.  April's themes are:

  •  Dynamic Duos - Catch some of the most infamous duos ever to be paired on the big screen, including Miami Vice, X-Files and The Blues Brothers. Starts April 7.

  • Astaire and Rogers - These classic dancers waltz into your home with a collection of some of their best films including, Top Hat, Swing Time and Shall We Dance. Starts April 13.

  • Horrorfest - For the ultimate horror fan, eight movies from this film festival are available - all in HD.  Movies include The Broken, From Within and Voices. Starts April 21.

  • Music & Movies  - Features films that were inspired by or star your favorite artists along with some of their music videos.  Movies include Cadillac Records (HD), Ray, Walk the Line and Drumline, and features music videos from hot artists such as Beyonce, Jamie Foxx and Nick Cannon.  Starts April 24.

IFC In Theaters - A collection of independent films available the same day as they are shown in the theater!  New titles this month are The Escapist and Lemon Tree.  These movies are available On Demand under "Movies & Events" under "IFC in Theaters." 

Kids - Showcasing a wide-variety of classic and new kids' movies, April's collection includes, Peter Pan, Ella Enchanted, Happily N'Ever After 2, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Barney's Top 20 Countdown, Bob the Builder On Site: Skyscrapers, Beethoven and Harry and the Hendersons.  These movies and others can be found On Demand in the "Movies & Events" folder under "Kids Movies." 

Disney SVOD - Disney Family Movies, a subscription video on demand service, gives customers unlimited access to approximately 20 hours of content each month.  Movies featured this month include, Return from Witch Mountain, The Sign of Zorro, Huckleberry Finn, Noah, Davy Crockett and the River Pirates, Toothless and 13 Going on 30, and can be found On Demand in the "Premium Channels" folder under "Disney Family Movies." 

Movies Under $3 - Stay entertained for less with this economic collection of hits. Customers have access to a wide-variety of movies for under $3 including, High Fidelity, L.A. Confidential, The Notebook and The Transporter. These movies and others can be found On Demand in the "Movies & Events" folder under "Movie Collections" under "30 Under $3." 

Television Highlights 

Television series premiering On Demand, along with new episodes of today's top shows available the day after they air can be found On Demand in the "TV Series" folder and also in the "HD On Demand" folder. 

Premieres  

  • History Channel's Life After People - Catch the exclusive premiere of the History Channel's top rated special series, Life After People, one week before airing live - in HD.  Life After People examines what would happen to the Earth if the human race were to suddenly disappear forever. This is available beginning April 14. 

Next Day Availability

  •  Discovery Channel - Season two of the original series Out of the Wild has just kicked off and you can watch episodes from this hit show the day after they air and in HD.  Out of the Wild: The Alaska Experiment puts nine strangers to the ultimate mental and physical test.

  • FX - Watch new episodes of FX's Emmy-winning Rescue Me, returning for its fifth season after a 19-month hiatus - all in HD. New episodes are available beginning April 8.

  • CBS - New episodes of hit CBS shows are available all in HD.  Shows include, Survivor: Tocantins, CSI, CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, Numb3rs, NCIS and Worst Week.

  • NBC - Catch new episodes of Heroes, 30 Rock, Friday Night Lights, The Office and the new series Parks and Recreation.

  • Other TV Series - Other hit series available anytime customers want to watch include; AMC's Breaking Bad (HD), USA's In Plain Sight, BBC's Ashes to Ashes and Lifetime's DietTribe. 

Special Programming Highlights 

WWE WrestleMania XXV - WrestleMania celebrates its 25th anniversary with its greatest show yet and all of the WWE Superstars.  Leading up to this highly-anticipated event, Comcast offers a collection of profiles on some of the WWE's most iconic wrestlers including Bret Hart, Triple H, Mysterio, The Rock, Stone Cold and Edge.  The profiles can be found On Demand in the "Movies & Events" folder under "WrestleMania Icons."  You can catch WrestleMania XXV on Comcast Pay-Per-View on April 5 at 7PM EST/4PM PT.  And if you miss the action live, replays will be available beginning Monday, April 6 under "Movies & Events" under "UFC WWE & Boxing." 

Ways to Think Green - This Earth Day help take care of Mother Earth with a collection of green tips, from ways to make your home green to how to make recycled paper.  This content will be available On Demand under "Top Picks" from April 9 - 23. 

Da Vinci Decoded - Go behind the mystery of The Da Vinci Code before the prequel, Angels and Demons, hits theaters in May.  Specials include Inside the Vatican and Secrets of the Cross, as well as the trailer for Angels and Demons. This content will be available On Demand under "Top Picks" from April 30 - May 18.  

Earth Day and Easter Holiday Projects - Tune in to learn how to make your very own reusable canvas shopping bag in celebration of Earth Day and learn how to make a new Easter basket, dye some eggs and create your own bonnet. These activities can be found On Demand in the "Kids" folder under "Activity TV." 

Martha Stewart: Easter Ideas - Not sure how to decorate for Easter or what to put in those baskets? Want to make something memorable and delicious? From marbleizing Easter eggs to making a wreath, to creating basket stuffers, Martha Stewart is here to help any time you want.  And don't forget Easter dinner - Martha shares her favorite recipes for a scrumptious ham and an Easter Pie. Everything you will need to impress your guests can be found On Demand in the "Life and Home" folder under "Martha Stewart."
