Madura Wijewardena serves as Vice President of Global Public Policy for Comcast Corporation. He is responsible for analyzing broadband Internet market structure. He also partners with various parts of the company and external thought-leaders to develop and implement initiatives that drive the company’s public policy priorities.

Prior to joining Comcast in 2013, Madura was the Director of Research at the National Urban League where he was responsible for macroeconomic research and online community building campaigns. Prior to that, he worked for a consulting firm in Chicago where he used demographic data analysis to assist clients to target service delivery and influence public opinion. Madura was also a community organizer in President Barack Obama’s first campaign in Chicago. For the first eight years of his career, Madura was a transactions attorney in telecoms, technology and media based in Australia with clients in Australia, Asia and the Middle East.

Madura holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago focusing on quantitative analysis, and a law degree and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Sydney, Australia.
