00:00:08.280 --> 00:00:11.320
<v ->My first experience getting Internet Essentials was wild.</v>

3
00:00:11.320 --> 00:00:13.050
I remember opening up the computer,

4
00:00:13.050 --> 00:00:15.400
seeing the internet, the three bars coming up

5
00:00:15.400 --> 00:00:16.800
and just thinking, this is insane.

6
00:00:16.800 --> 00:00:18.550
I can do my work from home now.

7
00:00:18.550 --> 00:00:21.440
Leading up to that moment, I had to go to the library

8
00:00:21.440 --> 00:00:22.700
in Downtown Miami.

9
00:00:22.700 --> 00:00:25.480
So having internet at home made life so much easier.

10
00:00:25.480 --> 00:00:27.800
Me and my family first got Internet Essentials

11
00:00:27.800 --> 00:00:30.680
in 2015 when I was a sophomore in high school.

12
00:00:30.680 --> 00:00:32.930
And I still use Internet Essentials today.

13
00:00:32.930 --> 00:00:35.720
The internet has made all of the difference.

14
00:00:35.720 --> 00:00:37.580
It's played a role in my life in terms

15
00:00:37.580 --> 00:00:40.730
of quenching that fire of curiosity that I've always had.

16
00:00:40.730 --> 00:00:42.800
I've always been a seeker of knowledge

17
00:00:42.800 --> 00:00:44.670
and so I've always loved school.

18
00:00:44.670 --> 00:00:47.360
Being able to have the internet and being able to look

19
00:00:47.360 --> 00:00:49.758
into the different avenues I can choose in terms

20
00:00:49.758 --> 00:00:53.440
of my majors and in terms of the careers that are out there,

21
00:00:53.440 --> 00:00:57.130
it just made me aware of how much was truly available to me.

22
00:00:57.130 --> 00:00:58.570
My undergraduate degree,

23
00:00:58.570 --> 00:01:00.386
it means a lot because I'm the first to go

24
00:01:00.386 --> 00:01:04.240
and bring a undergraduate degree to my family.

25
00:01:04.240 --> 00:01:07.330
It was that moment where you know, I did it.

26
00:01:07.330 --> 00:01:09.737
And so, to hear your name called is kind of crossing

27
00:01:09.737 --> 00:01:12.580
that finish line after a long race.

28
00:01:12.580 --> 00:01:14.550
I plan on leaving a mark on the world

29
00:01:14.550 --> 00:01:16.970
by being someone who perseveres

30
00:01:16.970 --> 00:01:20.411
and being someone who brings something new.

00:01:20.411 --> 00:01:22.828
