This summer, I’ll be passing the @XFINITYSports baton to a new social media maven – but not until the right applicant is found! It’s a dream job, and becoming the go-to digital resource for all things sports on Xfinity is no small task. Since I’ve been in charge, Comcast has added 20 live streaming networks to the Xfinity TV Go app, so there is no shortage of events and ways to watch.
@XFINTYSports now has nearly 40,000 followers, and the next person to hold Xfinity’s Ultimate Sports Social Media Job will build upon that momentum. To test their social media savvy, candidates will complete a series of public Twitter tasks so the world can watch the performance of every candidate, in real time, between now and June 25.
From Vine videos to Twitter chats, the winner must prove that he or she can become the sports fan’s tech concierge to all the ways to watch the most live sports across screens. The finalists will interview at Comcast’s headquarters in Philadelphia in mid-July with a panel of Comcast representatives.
The winner inherits the @XFINITYSports handle and will receive an annual salary with optional living expenses, three flat-screen HD TVs, an iPad and free Xfinity service fully equipped with the X1 Entertainment Operating System. There’s no person better positioned to show fans how to get the most live sports from their Xfinity subscription.
