As a super fan of Bollywood movies, I am excited to binge watch a special collection of Asian American content offered by Comcast during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
Bollywood films are the perfect cinematic experience, providing an escape into a life that is simply magical! From the beautiful costumes, amazing soundtracks, and incredible choreography, you’re guaranteed to be mesmerized.
Shamitabh, a Bollywood film featured this month for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, directed by R. Balki and starring the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, is one of my favorite movies in this special collection. Award winning, Amitabh, also known as Big B, has dominated the Bollywood film industry for more than four decades and appeared in over 180 Indian films, including: Amar Akbar Anthony, Namak Haraam, Deewar, Anand, Abhimaan, Sharaabi and Sholay.
Here are 3 reasons why Shamitabh should be the first Bollywood movie you should watch:
Balki and Big B’s third film together! Whenever this duo collaborates, they deliver masterpieces. ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Paa’ testify the point. Balki has a way of storytelling and that makes his films intriguing. The filmmaker brings out the hidden shades of Big B in a way nobody can.
Amazing Soundtrack! The soundtrack is packed with beautiful songs composed by famous film composer, Ilaiyaraaja, including Sha Sha Sha Mi Mi Mi and Piddly Si Baatein and Ishq E Fillum.
XFINITY TV customers can also watch a range of free Asian films on XFINITY On Demand platforms, including: films from the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM); short films produced by Visual Communication’s acclaimed emerging filmmaker production program, "Armed With A Camera;" a collection of popular titles from the EROS Now network; Asian action films from Well Go Entertainment and Tribeca Films; and a numerous award-winning documentaries and classic Asian American films.
