The Comcast Holiday Spectacular will debut Thanksgiving Day and visitors to Comcast Center in Philadelphia will once again be presented with a state-of-the-art visual experience that's like no other during the holiday season. New scenes this year include performers from Philadelphia’s renowned Walnut Street Theatre, animated penguins and world-class ice skaters, while favorite scenes from The Nutcracker, beautifully performed by Pennsylvania Ballet will captivate viewers.
Now in its sixth year, this 15-minute show takes visitors on a magical holiday journey in stunning clarity and has become a must-see attraction for people of all ages during the holidays. Since its 2008 debut, close to a million people from around the world have seen its unique imagery and heard its sound with many making it a tradition to view each year.
The Comcast Experience video wall, which displays the holiday show in the Comcast Center lobby, has become a popular destination for families and tourists to gather and enjoy year-round its spectacular imagery displayed on what is one of the world’s highest resolution LED displays. This technological wonder shows incredible images of public art — from stills to nature to astronomy to architecture — while embracing visitors with a resolution that's five times that of an HDTV. It has also broadcast live sporting events and major, historical news events to large audiences.
