Syfy is greenlighting 12 Monkeys, an hour-long drama series based on the 1995 Universal Pictures film directed by Terry Gilliam with stars Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt.
Like the classic hit film, 12 Monkeys follows the journey of a time traveler from the post-apocalyptic future who has returns to the present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will decimate the human race.
Production begins this November with Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett serving as Co-Executive Producers. Previously, Matalas and Fickett worked on Terra Nova and Nikita. Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven, who produced the original film, and Richard Suckle will Executive Produce.
