TV Everywhere (TVE) has become a regular part of our customers’ viewing routines.  Since launch, we have been committed to continually improving and enhancing TVE programming, access and experiences across platforms.  We have launched more than 115 live streaming networks, tens of thousands of on demand titles and we currently authenticate 95 networks across 22 devices. Our apps have been downloaded more than 20 million times, live streaming has grown more than 100 percent in the last year, and more than 40 percent of our double-play customers are using TVE every month.

In our continued effort to grow and enhance TVE, we are excited to work with our industry partners to support a new, universal, scalable solution that offers a simple, seamless authentication experience for all pay-TV customers across devices and platforms.  In collaboration with CTAM and Adobe, we’ve developed a standardized solution that will enable participating MVPDs and approved programmers to easily support home-based authentication and single sign-on, two features designed to further improve the authentication experience.

Home-based authentication is a feature that recognizes when a pay-TV customer is connected to their modem or gateway and automatically signs them in to participating MVPD and programmer websites and apps on devices in the home.

Outside of the home, single sign-on will prompt customers only once to provide their credentials on a device and sign them in to all MVPD and programmer apps and websites to which they are entitled.

By combining home-based authentication with single sign-on across MVPD and programmer applications, pay-TV subscribers will have an even easier time accessing and enjoying their favorite programming.  It has always been our mission to provide our customers with access to the content they want, when and where they want it and we are excited to work with our industry partners to bring TV Everywhere to the next level.
