It’s been two weeks since we announced our On Demand Online trial and the set of principles called "TV Everywhere" which we introduced with Time Warner Inc. Today we’re happy to announce that Starz Entertainment, which runs such channels as Starz and others, has joined the trial.

Starz subscribers will be able to watch 300 movies, including such hits as Hancock, Wall-E, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, No Country for Old Men and Enchanted, plus original programs, including "Crash", "Head Case", and "Party Down," in standard definition. We’ll be adding more content, and content in HD, in the coming months.

One of the coolest things about this announcement is that in many cases these movies and episodes will be available as soon as they premiere on our traditional VOD service (which you probably know as On Demand). That means it’ll be possible to watch this content on Comcast.net and Fancast before it airs on the channel itself. Neat, huh?

The On Demand Online trial is set to begin in the coming weeks, and will include about 5,000 Comcast customers from across the country. We’ll be focusing on our "authentication" technology (that’s the bit that lets us know what you already subscribe to, and allow you access to the same level of service with On Demand Online). This trial is streaming only, but we will be adding features (and more content) in the future including downloadable content for on the go viewing.
