NBCUniversal kicks off live coverage of the Breeders’ Cup World Championship on NBCSN, culminating with the live primetime broadcast of the Breeders’ Cup Classic. The coverage will draw on NBCUniversal’s diverse assets, ranging from sports to news to entertainment, online destinations and theme parks as part of NBC Sports Group’s big event strategy.
In addition, live Breeders’ Cup bonus coverage will air during NBCSN’s 3 p.m. Notre Dame-Navy pregame show. In the first segment of the pregame show, NBCSN will televise live the $2,000,000 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies race, which has a 3:05 p.m. ET post time.
The Breeders’ Cup promotion starts on TODAY, with an interview with Hall of Fame jockey and 2013 Preakness Winner Gary Stevens, who will ride in nine of 14 races at Breeders’ Cup. Al Roker and Stephanie Abrams will provide a race day forecast on The Weather Channel.
Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush will host the first half hour of primetime coverage, focusing on the spectacle and scene of the Breeders’ Cup, including features and celebrity interviews. E! News’ Catt Sadler will contribute celebrity interviews and reports from the Breeders’ Cup "purple carpet."
Online, NBCUniversal will create sports and lifestyle experiences that capture the excitement surrounding the Breeders’ Cup. E! Online will focus on fashion with Breeders’ Cup official milliner Christina A. Moore, one of the world’s leading headwear designers. DailyCandy will promote via social media and through their weekend guide, "The Download."
NBCSports.com will aggregate the best content from social media combined with their coverage at NBCSports.com/BreedersCup. The "All Access" page aggregates top trends, video and photo content about the event. Sportsdash with Yahoo! Sports will cover the Breeders’ Cup online for NBCSN.
