Driven by the success of Sunday Night Football, The Voice and The Blacklist, NBC won the third week of the season among viewers 18-49 and staked the #2 spot in total viewers so far this season, NBC’s best start after three weeks in the last decade.
The results for Sunday Night Football are staggering: #1 in primetime in 18-49 and leads in total viewers, kicking off the week with a flourish. NBC owned Monday night, winning six of six half hours 18-49, lead by The Voice and The Blacklist. NBC won its third straight Tuesday 18-49 with a Voice recap and Chicago Fire. These results make it the second consecutive year that NBC has won the opening three weeks of the season.
NBC is up 3% over last year in adults 18-49, rising to its highest three-week average since 2007. NBC grew its season lead to 0.6 of a point, which is the biggest margin for any network three weeks into the season in a decade. On a percentage basis, NBC’s 24% margin is the biggest lead for any net at three weeks in 12 years (since NBC led by 31% in 2001). NBC is also leading the season among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in all other key demographics.
