I recently had the opportunity to sit down with NBA All-Time Leading scorer and Skyhook Foundation founder Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to talk about his new documentary, "On the Shoulders of Giants." The soft-spoken Lakers great tells the tale of the Harlem Renaissance (or Harlem Rens), a team that predates the creation of the NBA as we know it today. They played at a time when professional basketball was still segregated and the team remains largely unknown today, even to most hoops aficionados. Abdul-Jabbar hopes to change that by bringing his documentary to an audience via On Demand.
