Today, I am pleased to announce that Joe Waz will return to Comcast Corporation as Senior Strategic Advisor in public policy and external affairs. This announcement marks the return of an individual who has had a powerful intellectual influence on public policy development and thinking on media and technology across these industries and nationally to Comcast. You may remember that Joe semi-retired in 2011 after 17 years of service. But since that time, Joe has remained active with the company and the cable industry as a consultant. For decades, Joe’s wise counsel and thought leadership has been sought across a variety of public policy topics. He has helped Comcast become the media and technology leader it is today. Joe has served as a Senior Fellow at the Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado, Boulder and as the founding Chair of the Broadband Internet Technology Advisory Group (BITAG). He currently serves on the board of the Telecommunications Policy Research Conference (TPRC), the leading communications research conference. We look forward to Joe's active re-engagement with the public policy community.
