On January 20th, 2017, President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States and X1 News’ "Politics Central" has been revamped to connect customers to past and present inaugural content.
Starting with George Washington in 1789, inaugural addresses have often shaped a president’s legacy. Saying "Politics Central" into the X1 voice remote will give customers access to every U.S. inaugural address dating back to President Eisenhower in 1953. They’ll be able to relive notable moments in history like John F. Kennedy’s famous deliverance: "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country" and Ronald Reagan’s well-known declaration: "My fellow citizens, our nation is poised for greatness. We must do what we know is right, and do it with all our might."
On inauguration day, Politics Central will feature live tune-in tiles that will allow X1 users to watch President-elect Trump’s speech – and the rest of the day’s events – on their preferred network.
It will also include quick and real-time access to highlights from events and both web-based and on demand news, interviews and analysis. Viewers will be able to learn more about President-elect Trump and rewatch his road to the White House via on demand content with milestones like his speech during the 2016 Republican National Convention; his first presidential debate; his Election Night victory speech; and other political commentary from the election season.
Those on-the-go can use the Xfinity TV app and my.xfinity.com web portal to access inauguration live streams from BBC World News, CNBC, CNN, C-SPAN, Fox News, and MSNBC.
Comcast is committed to bringing people closer to moments that matter and has worked to include content highlighting the legacy of our nation from over the years – including the 2016 Elections, 2016 Conventions, President Obama’s 2009 Inauguration, JFK’s 50 Years on Demand, the 2016 Rio Olympics, Hispanic Heritage Month and Black History Month. We’re proud to be able to connect our customers to these key milestones that are a part of our nation’s history.
