Considering the challenges, it’s easy to understand why creating new and better opportunities for our nation’s youth can seem overwhelming.

  • 1 in 4 kids in the U.S. won’t graduate on time
  • 1 out of 5 young people in the U.S. lives in poverty
  • 3 out of 10 kids in the U.S. are obese or overweight
  • 15.1 million school-aged children are home without adult supervision after school

These are some pretty bleak statistics, but the good news is that many of us are working together to do something about it. Today, Boys & Girls Clubs of America is launching the Great Futures campaign, designed to increase academic success, build character and citizenship, and encourage healthy lifestyles among our youth.  When a child opens the door to a Boys & Girls Club, he or she is opening the door to a world of new experiences and opportunities.

With a shared mission to improve the lives of children in communities nationwide, Comcast and NBCUniversal have been proud to support local clubs for the past 14 years, providing more than $88 million in cash and in-kind donations during that time. It’s also why we are excited for our future together.

We are proud to support Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s significant effort to open more doors and opportunities to our nation’s youth through the Great Futures campaign.
