I don’t go anywhere without my iPhone, and now I can bring my SmartZone® inbox, voicemail, TV listings, and movie trailers along with me. Comcast Mobile is now available for download on the App Store, just waiting for you to install it on your iPhone or iPod touch.
I’ve been using Comcast Mobile for awhile now (being chief blogger has its perks) and I have to say that it is pretty darned useful. Being able to check my voicemail on my home phone from my iPhone is great, as is the way I can quickly forward all my home calls to my iPhone from the iPhone itself.
Add to that being able to check your SmartZone email, look up your contacts (not to mention sync your SmartZone contacts with your iPhone contacts) and you have a winner. Oh, and did I mention TV and On Demand Listings? Not sure what to watch On Demand? You can check out trailers right on your iPhone. We are truly living in the future.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, "Scott, you work for Comcast so you have to like this app. What do other people have to say?" Good question! Since the app’s launch late last night we’ve seen a few reviews out there. TUAW calls Comcast Mobile a "surprisingly useful and fun app for the iPhone and iPod touch," EngadetHD says that "the Digital Voice integration is the killer feature in this version," CNet gave it four stars, and Gizmodo thinks "this is how you make a services app."
The Comcast Mobile Web site will give you more details about the app, and you can download it right now from the App Store.
