Recently, industry analyst firm Frost & Sullivan recognized Comcast by awarding it the 2012 North American Frost & Sullivan Competitive Strategy Leadership Award for MSO Ethernet services. In a press release announcing the award, the firm commended Comcast for the "execution of its Ethernet services market strategy as the company moves up-market, providing high-touch interaction and a competitive portfolio of Ethernet Services for increasingly larger businesses."
We're thrilled to have received this award from Frost and Sullivan, and think it further underscores our continued focus on delivering a broad range of reliable, high-performance Ethernet services to business customers. As organizations continue to expand their use of cloud computing, streaming video, and other online applications to run their business, their need for a dynamic network platform to manage it all is growing rapidly and Ethernet is proving to be the perfect solution for them. Specifically, our solution - Comcast Business Class Ethernet - provides significant leaps in capacity — all the way up to 10 Gigabits per second, if needed. That high capacity, coupled with amazing scalability and reliability, allows companies to maximize their application performance in ways legacy technologies like T1 lines and Frame Relay never could.
All around the country, customers are already realizing this. In recent months, we have announced Ethernet projects with several customers from various industries and locations, including the Philadelphia Phillies, Galveston (Texas) Independent School District and Lifeline Data Centers.
To keep pace with this growing customer demand, we continue to expand our fiber network and Ethernet services coverage in 20 of the nation's top 25 markets and more than 40 states. And, more office buildings and business parks around the country are being "lit" with Comcast fiber and Ethernet all the time!
