For the very first time, Comcast and Xfinity are creating a full day of programming celebrating one of the greatest sporting events on earth: the Spanish League soccer match between storied rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid, aptly dubbed "El Clasico."

Comcast and Xfinity are proud to deliver this epic event on Xfinity Latino Entertainment Channel (XLEC), which is available to the vast majority of Xfinity subscribers, with all-day coverage beginning Saturday, Oct. 26 at 9 a.m. ET. The match begins at 12 noon ET. And in order to accommodate our West Coast viewers, rebroadcasts of the entire programming lineup will air again at 3 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. ET.

Additional programming, only available on the XLEC, includes "El Clasico: Messi vs. Cristiano Ronaldo," "Nueva Temporada, Misma Rivalidad 2013," and live pre and post-match analysis from beIN SPORT en Español talent and experts. Xfinity is the only place to experience the all day event.

This unprecedented coverage, celebrating one of the world’s biggest events, continues Comcast’s commitment of delivering the best live content to consumers. Over 450 million people are projected to view this match, or four times the viewers of the last Super Bowl. And although this event carries particular appeal for the Latino audience, XLEC will showcase this all-day experience with a global audience in mind, using Secondary Audio Programming (SAP) to deliver the match in both Spanish and English.

Comcast and Xfinity are very pleased to be the only entertainment provider to bring El Clasico, and the fierce rivalry between Barcelona’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid’s Lionel Messi, to life, and to an audience of this scale. XLEC is untiered and available to 18 million viewers. We created the channel as a destination for customers to view the latest news on Hispanic programming, but is has evolved into an important tool for airing event programming like this, in both languages. We’re also pleased to be taking another step in reaffirming our commitment to Latinos, and to once again showcase our leadership in the industry, through programming like this and through our successful Freeview Latino event, which happened earlier this month. Comcast has spent many years innovating, planning and rolling out products and services, like XLEC, developed exclusively with Hispanic customers in mind. The Hispanic population has grown to 53 million in the U.S. and is projected to grow to 129 million by 2060. Comcast is poised to meet the demand of its customers.

We hope sports fans and non-sports fans alike join in our day of celebration this Saturday on XLEC.
