Today, G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines announced that Comcast and NBCUniversal have beenranked as a Top 100 Military Friendly Employer for 2014.

This exciting news comes on the heels of our recent announcement that Comcast and NBCUniversal have hired 2,000 veterans since 2012 -- achieving ourveterans hiring commitment two years ahead of schedule and furthering our ongoing partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s "Hiring Our Heroes" initiative.

Comcast and NBCUniversal seek to employ, support and promote veterans in the workforce, and since 2011 have hired thousands of veterans to work in a variety of positions at all levels across the company, including network engineering, technology, operations, theme parks and resorts, programming, customer service, marketing, human resources, and other careers.  To ensure veterans have access to the wide array of opportunities at Comcast and NBCUniversal, the company has conducted targeted outreach to the military and veteran communities through on-base workshops and career fairs for military personnel, as well as by posting career opportunities on veteran-focused sites and attending traditional and virtual job fairs for the veteran and military community.

Companies competed for the elite Military Friendly Employer title via a data-driven survey of over 5,000 employers.  Criteria for the survey included scores across key programs and policies such as the strength of company military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service and retention programs.

Comcast and NBCUniversal will be showcased along with other 2014 Military Friendly Employers in the December edition of G.I. Jobs magazine and online at www.MilitaryFriendly.com
