Mario Andretti is widely recognized as the most famous race car driver on Earth, but before “Andretti” was a piece of cultural shorthand synonymous with speed, Mario himself had a most unlikely story. Fifty years following his win at the 1969 Indianapolis 500, and ahead of NBC Sports’ first-ever Indianapolis 500 broadcast this May, NBC Sports has produced Drive Like Andretti, a documentary following Mario’s journey from refugee and Italian immigrant to American cultural icon and racing legend. The panel will include a preview of the documentary, followed by a discussion with Mario Andretti and reigning Indianapolis 500 champion Will Power.
