Groundbreaking Season Garners 46 NBC Emmy Nominations

Universal Television made an especially strong showing, picking up 33 nominations, including 14 for Saturday Night Live, which has 40 all-time Emmy wins and now raises its all-time Emmy nominations record to 185. The Voice received 10 nominations — double its total from last year — including Outstanding Reality-Competition Program. In its first year of eligibility, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon picked up five nominations, including Outstanding Variety Series, sharing the category with Saturday Night Live.

Our ratings smash The Sound of Music Live! also made its mark with the Emmys as it garnered four nominations, including Outstanding Special Class Program.

On an individual basis, Amy Poehler received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Parks and Recreation, as well as for Outstanding Writing on a Variety Special (Golden Globes). Amy now has amassed 12 Emmy nominations over her career.

Also in the comedy category, Andre Braugher of Universal Television’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy. Andre now has eight career nominations.

Comcast and NBCUniversal wish to congratulate all of its nominees, including its partners at NBCU International, which received 12 nominations for Downton Abbey, NBC Digital, which received four nominations (Parks and Rec in Europe, Jay Leno’s Garage, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Digital Experience and The Voice) and NBC Sports, which received four nominations for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony.

The Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Seth Meyers, will be presented Aug. 25 on NBC.
