Michael J. Cavanagh serves as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Comcast Corporation, a Fortune 50 global media and technology company with two primary businesses, Comcast Cable and NBCUniversal. Mike has a broad range of responsibilities, including overseeing all financial functions, corporate development, strategic planning, and Comcast Ventures. Comcast Corporation has approximately 159,000 employees worldwide and over $80 billion in annual revenue.
Mike joined Comcast in 2015 after spending more than 20 years in the financial services industry. He was the Co-CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s Corporate & Investment Bank from 2012 to 2014, a business that was a global leader in its industry with over $30 billion in revenue and more than 50,000 employees located in over 50 countries. Prior to that, he served as JPMorgan Chase’s CFO for six years -- from the time of its 2004 merger with Bank One through the financial crisis -- until 2010 when he was named CEO of its Treasury and Securities Services Business. Before JPMorgan Chase, Mike was a top executive at Bank One, and prior to that he held senior leadership roles at Citigroup and its predecessor companies, beginning with Primerica Corporation. Immediately prior to joining Comcast, he briefly served as Co-President and Co-Chief Operating Officer of The Carlyle Group, a global alternative asset manager with approximately $200 billion in assets under management.
Mike earned a B.A. from Yale University and a J.D. from the University of Chicago. He currently serves on the board of Yum! Brands, Inc. and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
