Cindi Hook serves as Senior Vice President, General Auditor and Global Risk Officer for Comcast Corporation. In this role, she leads the Comcast Assurance and Advisory Team (CAAT) including all internal audit staff, risk management, and the performance of financial, operational, and systems audits. Additionally, she leads the governance of Comcast and NBCUniversal’s data security and cyber capabilities, which includes directing and developing strategy for the company’s global security risk program and ongoing external and independent assessments of auditors and outside vendors.
Since joining Comcast in 2010, Cindi has had an enormous impact, including transforming Comcast’s internal audit’s engagement model to include both assurance and advisory work. She also successfully designed, developed and implemented NBCUniversal’s internal audit function upon the closing of the Comcast and General Electric transaction in 2011.
Cindi has a passion for developing the careers of others. She is the founder and serves as executive sponsor for several company-wide finance development programs, including the Financial Management Leadership Program (FMLP), CORE (Career Opportunities and Rotational Experience) and the Finance and Accounting Intern Program. Additionally, Cindi serves as executive sponsor of Comcast’s Young Professionals Network, a volunteer employee organization dedicated to shaping future leaders and serving the community by teaching innovation, collaboration and exceptional business results.
Prior to joining Comcast, Cindi spent more than a decade at Dell, Inc., most recently serving as the Vice President of Global Audit and Transformation where she was responsible for the Global Audit function as well as transformation initiatives for the finance function and supporting business-wide change initiatives. Before that, she held senior finance positions within several groups at Dell, including heading up Corporate Planning and CFO for various business units including Dell’s Corporate Business Group, Dell Americas Operations, Dell International Services, Product Group and Information Technology. In previous roles, she served as an executive sponsor for Dell’s Finance Diversity Action Committee, led the Finance Development Council and was a founding board member of Dell’s women’s networking group. Prior to Dell, Ms. Hook spent 8 years in a variety of finance and IT roles at Hewlett Packard and 2 years at Price Waterhouse.
Cindi is a member of the National Advisory Council for Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management and is an Advisory Board member for America’s Freedom Festival. She is also a trustee of the University of Philadelphia. Cindi previously served on the boards of Community Partnership School in Philadelphia and Ballet Austin. She is the past board president of Austin Youth Hockey Association and served as Public Affairs Director for LDS Church – Philadelphia Stake. She has been recognized as one of Cablefax’s “Most Powerful Women in Cable” in 2015, 2014 and 2013. She holds a B.S. in Accounting (magna cum laude) and a M.B.A. in Finance from Brigham Young University. Cindi, mother of four, splits her time between Philadelphia and Salt Lake City to spend time with her family.
