Xfinity Remote Roundup

remote.jpgBrian Roberts demoed the Xfinity Remote prototype yesterday at the Cable Show (check out the video if you haven’t seen it yet), and people are getting excited about it.

Here’s a look at some of the reaction to the demo from around the web:

  • Engadget’s Richard Lawler is looking forward to using the Xfinity Remote to help organize some Real Housewives of New York viewing parties (I’m more of a Real Housewives of New Jersey fan myself, but to each his own).

  • Gizmodo’s Kyle VanHemert’s thinks that ‘Flicking through an interactive channel guide without taking up precious TV real estate’ is cool.

  • ZDNet’s Sean Portnoy may never get out of bed again once the Xfinity Remote has been released (though how will he get himself a delicious beverage and snack to enjoy as he watches tv?).
  • Staci Kramer at paidContent promises not to rave about yet another app, but thinks the Xfinity Remote has the potential to change the way people watch TV.
  • Music writer Bob Lefsets declares “You’ve now got a reason to buy an iPad.”

What do you think of the Xfinity Remote? Let us know in the comments.
