New Voice Remote Hacks: Favorite Movie Quotes & Celebrities That Talk Back

We launched the Xfinity voice remote earlier this month and already, people are pressing the blue microphone button a few dozen times a day to say what they want to watch on the X1 platform.  Discovering your favorite shows and movies has never been easier and today we’re adding a little extra fun into the search experience as well.

Have a favorite movie quote?  So do we…hundreds of them.  Now you can do your best Vin Diesel impersonation and say "I am Groot" to find Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.  Sing the title of the catchy, Grammy and Oscar-nominated song "Everything is Awesome" into the remote and discover The Lego Movie.  We’ve added lines from titles like Frozen, Despicable Me 2, and Pitch Perfect as well as phrases from all-time classics like AirplaneA Few Good MenGhostbusters, The GodfatherJaws and Titanic.

Try some of your favorites and see how many you can discover…we’re adding more all the time so Tweet us @Xfinity and tell us which ones you want to see next.

Now take it one step further -- how cool would it be if your favorite celebrity responded back when you searched for their content?   See for yourself when you look for videos related to Taylor Swift’s The 1989 World Tour.   Say, "Taylor Swift 22" and as the music video come up, Taylor interjects, "I like this one too."  Or just sing "Shake it off" and she’ll respond "oh, I see what you did there."  Watch the clips of this back-and-forth below.

Of course, you don’t have to sing lyrics or memorize lines to find what you want to watch. Just saying the name of a channel, genre, show or actress works just fine.  Or you can tell your X1 to record a program and even ask it for a recommendation.  Get as simple – "Jimmy Fallon" – or as complicated - "Show me all the movies on Showtime about zombies" - as you’d like.

But, if you want to get a little more creative, start brainstorming those movie lines!

So have fun and hasta la vista baby.
